In our tests, this robot showed outstanding suction on both hard floors and carpeting. Its mapping system is smart and performs better than the majority of other and can store multiple maps and allowing a variety of functions that include a scheduled and customized cleaning. It doesn't let you to set up Keep-Out Zones or clean specific rooms on demand this could be crucial for spaces that span more than one level. If you want to use this feature, you may be interested in the Roborock Q5+ instead, that has a superior smart-mapping system and provides more customization options within its easy-to-use app.

2. Shark Matrix

Shark Robot, the robot vacuum division of SharkNinja (a conglomerate of home appliances) is a relative newcomer to this area. However the company has risen quickly in popularity due to offering an extensive selection of affordable robots with relatively premium-grade build quality. Their flagship model is the Matrix is a mighty whole home cleaner with incredible suction power and intelligent features.

The Shark Matrix comes with a self-emptying station that automatically empties the bag after every clean, eliminating the inconvenience of changing it manually. Like all Shark robots that are available, the Matrix can be programmed to run according to a set schedule or remotely activated using voice commands to make it easy to use hands-free. It also uses the cliff sensor to ensure that it doesn't fall down stairs and optical encoders to determine how far it has cleaned.

The Matrix is a great choice for those looking for a mid-range robotic vacuum. It may not have the sophisticated vSLAM map of the Roomba S9 but it still provides plenty. Its cleaning path is efficient on carpeted surfaces, and it picks up dirt on all surfaces. It also has a slightly stronger cleaning head than the S9 and a self-cleaning brush roll that's ideal for hair of pets.

The only issue is that Shark's app can be frustratingly sluggish and unreliable especially when utilized in conjunction with the robot. The iRobot HOME application, on the contrary is definitely more intuitive and stable.

3. iRobot i3 Roomba

The Roomba i3 is our favorite robot vacuum model bagless self-emptying robot vacuum because of its remarkable performance on flooring that is bare and its high-end construction. It is well-built, can navigate around obstacles with ease, and charges quickly. It has a large dustbin which can be easily emptied.

This Roomba model doesn't come with an upper-mounted camera that can detect objects or search for distinctive features to keep in mind, like the more expensive models do. It's a great choice for floors that are unfinished and can be utilized on a of low-pile rug. It does not remove pet hair as efficiently as other models, and it can struggle to deal with large pieces of items like cereal when the dirt container is filled up. It's also a bit sluggish in its movement and can get caught up in things such as electrical cords or rug tassels. It has an average battery life and can be charged quickly.

The iRobot Combo i5 goes to the next stage by adding mopping capabilities. When it's docked, a hose inside the Clean Base automatically sucks debris out of the robot's bin and into a special bag that iRobot calls its Smart Maps. It's a smart, clean method to empty the bin of your robot vacuum and will save you the hassle of lifting out the old bin and letting everything fly everywhere (which typically results in a minor dustsplosion). This top-rated model comes with a minimal operating cost. You'll have to purchase another bag every time your old one gets full. Even though they're fairly cheap, you can feel bad about throwing them to waste.

After you have your i7+ and its Clean Base in place and you are ready to begin cleaning right away or tell it to take some exploratory, non-vacuuming runs first in order to create a floor map of the room. Once you have a map of your space you can use iRobot's app to label rooms and create virtual barriers. You can also define specific cleaning times for certain rooms.

The i7+ is a premium robot vacuum, and although it's very capable and offers all the features you could need in a home automation system however, it's the price of a product that's difficult to justify for the majority. The Roborock S7 is less expensive than the i7+, is better built, offers lower recurring costs and longer runtime. It also does a better job on floors that aren't cleaned.
