Psychiatrists - Find a Private Psychiatrist in Surrey

Dr Saad Al-Khalaf

Jennifer Laidlaw completed her MD at the University of British Columbia (UBC) prior to completing her residency in psychiatry at the University of Toronto. During her time in Toronto she was actively involved in medical education. She's presented at international conferences and published on the topic of screening for delirium, as well as professionalism and social media. She spent the beginning of her career as the head of Consultation Liaison (CL) Psychiatry at Surrey Memorial Hospital where she concentrated on establishing a flourishing and highly collaborative CL service that provides psychiatric treatment to patients on the surgical and medical wards, including the oncology and palliative care units. She also was awarded an Facilities Engagement grant to develop guidelines for the management of vulnerable patients in hospitals.

She is the Provincial Practice Leader for Psychiatry at BC Cancer, Clinical Associate Professor at UBC and Past-President of the BC Psychiatric Association. She is also an assistant professor in the Department of Psychiatry at Tufts University School of Medicine and an adjunct faculty participant in the UM PM&R and Family Medicine residency programs. She has a longstanding interest in research and education on musculoskeletal issues. She teaches Neuromuscular Medicine and Musculoskeletal Medicine for Family Medicine Residents. She also has ongoing research projects focusing on electrodiagnostic medical musculoskeletal and performing arts-medicine.

Dr. Pulkit Singh completed her medical degree at the University of New South Wales prior to finishing her Psychiatry residency at the University of British Columbia. She received the Undergraduate Teaching Award and the Psychotherapy Award during her training to acknowledge her accomplishments in these fields. Dr. Nadeesha Fernando is a psychiatrist who treats adults of all ages at BC Cancer. She has a particular interest in Psychooncology, and is a fan of working with older people. She has been interested for a long time in geriatric psychotherapy and has been a consultant for the Geriatric Psychiatry Consult Liaison Service and the ECT service at Vancouver General Hospital.
