If you're on a budget and don't need a stroller that doubles up as car seat carriers the Babyzen Yoyo is a good option. It comes with a flip-flop-friendly one-step footbrake.

It's easy to push, and it is solid when navigating kerbs and woodland paths. It's also a breeze to fold.

1. Babyzen YOYO2

The Babyzen YOYO2 has earned a reputation for being the ultimate stroller that is lightweight, suitable for urban dwellers as well jet-setters. This is due to its extremely nimble handling and fold-down design that can be incorporated into the overhead baggage of an aircraft. The latest version has independent suspension on all four wheels constructed of Hytrel elastomer. This allows it to 'perfectly traverse all terrains and types'.

The YOYO2 frame base, curved fabric bassinet and 6+ month color pack combine to form a stylish pushchair that is easy to look at, with a subtle but elegant design and a tasteful branding. The base frame alone weighs just under a kilo and is so light that you can easily lift it from the box (and do it with one hand).

The hood, for example, snaps on the YOYO2 in a reassuring manner. It is machine washable at 30 degrees, which helps to prevent stains caused by smushed carrot puffs and rice cakes. It can be used as a pram right from birth with the Newborn Pack or bassinet, or converted to a stroller from 6 months by clicking on the YOYO Connect additional chassis.

2. Evenflo Pivot Xplore

Evenflo Pivot Xplore stroller wagon is a great choice for parents looking for an adaptable stroller. The Evenflo Xplore can be transformed from a stroller into the wagon by turning the handle. Parents can then decide which one is the best fit for their adventure. The wagon can hold one or two children from 6 months old to 5 years old, and it comes with a spacious storage basket for everything you require on the go.

The Xplore also features dual canopies that move from front to back, providing ample sun protection for all family members. It has a smaller footwell than some wagons. This may not be suitable for long journeys or naps.

The frame on the Xplore is solid and sturdy but it doesn't have the same flexibility as other wagons we tested. It is also more difficult to fold than some of the competitors, and it does not close tightly when folded. It is easy to move, however, and fits through doors that are narrower than 28 inches.

3. Delta Children LX Side-by-Side

This basic double stroller from Delta Children is an excellent choice for parents looking for a budget-friendly secondary travel stroller. It scored highly in our Strollers and Multiples Test for its weight and folded dimensions, which means it's lightweight and compact when folded and easy to carry and put in a trunk of a car. It also offers the option of reclining in multiple positions and a cup holder for the parent. Other key features include two large storage bags that hang from the ceiling and 360-degree front wheels that are shock-absorbing.

It did better in our push and turn test than most of the other strollers we tested, but it is nonetheless difficult to maneuver on uneven ground or through narrow doors. The sunshades it has are among the ones we tested the smallest, providing only a direct overhead coverage and no windows that peek out. The UPPAbaby G-Link 2 and Zoe Twin+ have much larger sunshades.

It took us just under 3 minutes to put together the Delta with a manual. None of the parts required tools. But, it's lacking some critical features we believe you should consider non-negotiable in a double stroller like a large basket and reclining seats with adjustable leg rests.

4. Maxi-Cosi Zelia 2-in-1

The Zelia is Maxi-Cosi's newest pushchair and is marketed as a travel system for urban use. It is designed to carry infants from birth until around 3.5 years old, and can be converted into a seat and carrycot with only a few clicks. It can also be used with Maxi-Cosi capsule car seats and comes complete with the lightweight Mico 30 infant car seat, a stay-in-car base and a reversible carriage.

The seat reclines with one hand and the large shopping basket makes it easy for parents to take their child in and out. The narrow pushchair sailed through every day bumps and doors with ease.

The front wheels can be locked into an forward position or allow them to swivel which helps when covering rough terrain. On our walk on the stony path, we let them move and it performed well, though it did appear more bumpy than the other models in our test.

5. Baby Jogger City Tour 2

Baby Jogger is most famous for its three-wheeled, all-terrain strollers that jog. But they also produce a wide variety of pushchairs that have four wheels. City Tour 2 is their most popular model. It is simple to fold and can fit in the trunk of a car even with a carrycot attached.

It weighs more than other strollers that we test, but since it has rubber composite wheels it feels sturdy and well-constructed. It's a breeze to maneuver across all kinds of terrain, and it's also a breeze to lift, even when loaded with two kids and shopping bags.

Both the seat and the carrycot come with hoods that are able to be lower to reveal a UV50and sun canopy extension. They are waterproof and strong unlike other prams' hoods which get turned back into toddlers faces.

It doesn't have a lot of storage space but it has a large, deep basket to accommodate a changing bag or plenty of groceries. You can also pair it with the Baby Jogger car seat that is suitable for babies who weigh 20 pounds or less (car seat and adapters are sold separately). The City Tour 2 is a good choice if you want to use a stroller on the move.

6. Nuna Mixx Next

Nuna Mixx was an infant stroller that captivated the hearts of many parents when it first came out. It's a stroller made of aluminum which can be used from the infant's first days until. It comes with a variety of stand-out features including the ability to flip the seat between parent and world-facing, a large UPF 50+ canopy with an eye shade that flips out, a spacious basket and adjustable handlebar.

The chassis is equipped with an integrated suspension system that helps reduce the impact of bumpy terrain. The wheels are made of tough foam and reduce punctures. It was simple to push and our tester was able to maneuver the car through narrow streets.

It locks automatically and folds in just four steps. It can also be rolled and repositioned for easy transport down the stairs or in the trunk of the car. It also comes with a travel system equipped with the ability to add a car seat or carrycot with the adaptors included. The brakes are easy to use with single infant stroller action colored and flip-flop friendly.

7. Babyzen Duet

This single pushchair that is budget-friendly is surprisingly easy to handle and comes with great dual suspension, one-hand fold and a practical carry strap. It's also very light and sturdy. The seat can be reclined in various positions. It also is equipped with a double-breathable mattress that can be used from birth.

The canopy/seat comes with two large fixed or flip-out sun visors, both of which are UPF50+. However the toggle closure isn't ideal it's not as quiet as Velcro and may wake napping babies.

The Duet is a angled stroller that can be used for twins or siblings. (Up to 22kg per seat). It can be used with two infant car seats and some carrycots. In twin-mode, the seats can be facing each other or be turned around to face parents, theoretically reducing sibling rivalries over who should sit with dad and mom. It comes with a large tray for gears, a bottle holder and snack tray. It also has a folding stand that folds down and a frame lock.

8. Baby Jogger Urban Glide 2.

The Thule Urban glide 2 is a great jogger for parents that like to be active. It's one of the lightest strollers that you can buy for your child. It also has great safety features, such as the 5-point safety harness and wrist safety strap. It has a different type of hand brake than other models that are an interesting twist.

The seat is very comfortable and provides a wide area to sit. However the seat's depth is smaller than that of other runners (it's just about 10 inches") The storage bin is encased with a zipper to keep things safe. It can hold up to 10lbs, which is enough for most diaper bags.

The Urban Glide 2 doesn't come with adapters to fit most infant car seats and bassinets, but you can use them from the very first day with adapters that fit brands like BOB, Graco Combi Evenflo Britax UPPAbaby. It's easy to fold and put together in just 5-10 minutes with no tools. The manual is easy-to-understand and comes in a variety of languages.
