iRobot recommends you clear out areas in which the i3+ EVO will vacuum before you use it, and include putting away any toys or clutter it may come across. You should also keep the dustbin and filter clear to avoid getting blocked. If the i3+ EVO's internal bin is full or its battery is low, it returns to its docking station and automatically empties its trash into the station's external dustbin and then resumes cleaning the area where it began. The battery's lifespan is around an hour and a half of continuous use. It takes about three hours to fully charge.

The Roomba I7+ is able to better map rooms with Imprint Smart Mapping. It also integrates with iRobot Home to schedule cleaning jobs, and you can direct your robot using the app or voice.

In our testing the i7+ performed faster and more maneuverable than our runner-up and the eufy RoboVac G30, and it picked up large pieces of pet hair from all surface kinds, including carpeting. Its main advantage over the eufy, is its self-emptying dustbin which eliminates a major cause of maintenance and cuts down on recurring costs.

We were also impressed with the i7+’s compatibility with Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant AI services. We utilized these services to instruct the robot to start, stop, or pause cleaning sessions, as well as to move around the room, and even vacuum a specific area. The iRobot Home App made it easy to connect the i7+ to these services. We were able, once connected, to speak commands to the i7+ for example "Hey Alexa vacuum the master bedroom."
